“I have been a livery at Brookfield Farm Equestrian Centre since 2010. After training and competing my German Hanoverian, Charlie, for seven years, I was ready for a new challenge, so I decided to get a youngster to bring on for eventing. Chloe helped me find and buy a lovely four year old in Ireland last year. Fifi, a mare by OBOS Quality 004, has a great temperament and a powerful jump and at Brookfield, I have done the basic training with her; Chloe and John always there to offer invaluable advise when needed.
Fifi’s a fantastic prospect and I would never have been able to find her without Chloe’s contacts and help. Now five, Fifi has had her first eventing season with a win at BE90 and placings at BE100. Following Chloe’s eventers’ development and progress with professional riders is really interesting and great motivation for an amateur like me with a young horse to bring on.
The regular trainers who come to Brookfield are also invaluable, whether training an older horse or bringing on a youngster. For me, Debbie Childs has been very influential, improving me as a rider and progressed my horses at the same time. Not to mentioned the maybe less regular trainers, like Yogi Breisner, who give workshop-like sessions from time and sometimes monthly and are then on hand to offer any advise you have the imagination to ask them about."
